Yellow Mexican Hat

Posted in Nature, Project 365 on April 29th, 2008 by Judy

Day 147. Most Mexican Hats have red in them (see the next picture in this stream). This one is entirely yellow. Since they’ve just started blooming here and I have a LOT of them in our yard, it will be interesting to see them come out. We were in the Rio Grande Valley last week and most of them seemed to be almost entirely red. Impressionist effect – Casa Magnolia, Wimberley, Texas

The earthworm and the spider

Day 145.  I don’t want to think too much about this one, but I have to have a picture for today! This appears to be an earthworm being consumed by a spider. The earthworm was alive when we first saw it. Inquiring minds want to know how the small spider can eat this earthworm (can’t) and how the earthworm got on this window sill in the first place! On second thought, how did it’s tail get caught in the web. Was it dropping from the window? It’s a very small earthworm — maybe an inch and a half long. Casa Magnolia, Wimberley, Texas

Day 144.  This is our very first art show. It was a lovely day and we had a wonderful time! My photographs are on the left and my sister-in-law’s oil paintings on the right. We both sold some plus had very positive feedback! Art in the Square, San Marcos, Texas
