Using a contemporary, vivid palette and a fresh view of the world around us, I attempt to capture a sense of space and atmosphere revealing the emotion and mood of the moment.

As a painter it is important to me to recreate - through light, shape, and color - the rhythm and emotion I perceive in the objects or the scene before me."

Being an artist is the best job in the world which frees me to create in Oil, Pastel, Watercolor, and even Photography. It's exhilarating and an honor.

After 44 years of makin' stuff I want to create forms that illustrate lessons that would've served me well back in my youth,.....or just something with a 'twist' that makes me laugh.

There is a purpose behind every piece of art created and a story waiting to be heard.

I like to combine and blend different images, from digital photos, scanned images, and textures to form a rough rendition of the original photograph that I started with. I attempt to transform what I see into something I connect with – a color, texture, or the concept of art itself. The finished print is simply an interpretation of the original image.

I process my images to make them better focus on my intended subject or goal of the photograph and to bring out what I saw in my mind's eye when I took the picture.

Our lives are permeated with stories of all shapes, sizes and flavors, most of which we have little conscious awareness. I seek to stimulate a seed in the viewer, an invitation to co-create the experience of the painting according to the wealth of life, thought and perception he or she brings to the viewing.
