Diptych: Looking in and looking out

These small windows are in a wall around a beautiful garden. On the left I was looking out of the garden and on the right I was looking into the garden through a different little window.

San Marcos Record article

Posted in Other on December 17th, 2010 by judy

I was honored to be featured in the Neighbors section of the San Marcos Record on Sunday, December 12, 2010. There was even a small picture on the front page. The featured picture, shown large above the section I showed above was Pink Waterlily. The article continued with the rest of the text and three more pictures in B&W. The article (but not all of the pictures) is online here:

Tendril on fence

Posted in Flowers and Plants, Other on May 10th, 2010 by judy

This subject was suggested by the teacher at a workshop I attended last weekend.  After seeing the resulting image, I wanted to focus on the “rim lighting” on the tiny hairs, so I cropped it.  The original would have focused more on the winding tendrils and the wire fence.  Devil’s River State Natural Area, Del Rio, Texas

ReDynaMix

This demonstrates one of my favorite tools, ReDynaMix.  Before at left, after at right.  ReDynaMix can be used to give a kind of HDR look to a single image.  It brings out detail and in particular brings details out of shadows.

My neighbor Petesie and I went to Austin for a two-day photography workshop.  The location was very near this lovely glass building.  Austin, Texas
