Today’s picture isn’t going to win any prizes — neither for the photographer nor for the butterfly — but it tells a story. Many butterflies if you see them close up have damage to their wings. This one is about as ratty as I’ve seen. This makes us think about what a time the migrating butterflies have on their long trips. I couldn’t find out if the Tiger Swallowtail does migrate, but this one has been through something. The little green spider was able to make the butterfly fly by lunging toward it, but the butterfly just came back to the same flower to feed. Wimberley, Texas
