I think I took pictures of a zillion different flowers last weekend. The fall and spring rains have made it a very special year for wildflowers in Texas. Devil’s River State Natural Area, Del Rio, Texas.

This subject was suggested by the teacher at a workshop I attended last weekend.  After seeing the resulting image, I wanted to focus on the “rim lighting” on the tiny hairs, so I cropped it.  The original would have focused more on the winding tendrils and the wire fence.  Devil’s River State Natural Area, Del Rio, Texas

ReDynaMix

This demonstrates one of my favorite tools, ReDynaMix.  Before at left, after at right.  ReDynaMix can be used to give a kind of HDR look to a single image.  It brings out detail and in particular brings details out of shadows.
