Bluebonnets and Paintbrush

FM306 between Purgatory Road and New Braunfels are a riot of color with bluebonnets and paintbrush and yellow flowers. This is the first time I’ve seen a lot of bluebonnets and paintbrush together.

Church in Villahermosa

A church in Villahermosa, Chiapas, Mexico. This was near our first night hotel — I wandered around a bit to see what was there. I love to try night shots!

Temple of the Inscriptions

Temple of the Inscriptions, Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. Just returned on Monday from a birding trip in Chiapas. Wonderful trip! It had been 40 years since I had been there. That time we went in a Ford van from Chicago to Guatamala and back. Oh, to be young again!

Domestic Turkeys in Chiapas

Turkeys

Just returned on Monday from a 10 day birding trip to Chiapas.  Birds and culture and archaeological sites.  Great trip organized by Chiapas Birding Adventures.   I love to take pictures of the domestic animals, and they are everywhere!  Most are not constrained.  Even in our hotel close to downtown San Cristobal de las Casas we were woken up every morning early by a crowing rooster and a gobbling turkey who lived in the yard next door.

La Librairie d’Arcadie

La Librairie d'ArcadieLa Librairie d’Arcadie is another one of my most popular photographs.  The store is in New Orleans and I loved the detail of all the books, the green shutters and yellowish walls, the welcoming open door.  Come in and get some books!  And of course the patina of age on almost everything in the French Quarter.
