I prefer this softened, more romantic version of the Blue Hole photograph. It makes me feel more like what I felt when I was there than the sharp version. Maybe it’s because the water and the leaves are constantly moving but the camera captures just one instance and freezes it as a sharp version of a world that is in fact in constant motion.
Today was Arts Fest at Blue Hole in Wimberley. We’ve had nice rain and being at Blue Hole was like being in a sea of green with the cypress canopy above reflecting into the waters of Cypress Creek. I must say the photograph right out of my camera did not give me the same feeling as I had when standing on the bank of Cypress Creek, so I went to work on it. This is the sharp version of my attempts to impart the feeling I had when standing there this evening.
White Prickly Poppies in a field of blueobnnets at Willow City Loop, April 2015. I processed them to better bring out the transparent character of their petals.
