These striking flowers are called Pride of Barbados or Red Bird of Paradise or probably other things as well. These particular instances are growing at the side of the Visitors Center in Wimberley. I could not resist capturing them!
I was working in New Braunfels on Wednesday when one of my colleagues pointed out a 1950s Chevy Belair convertible parked in front of the gallery. So of course I ran out to take pictures of it… Here’s one of its wonderful hood ornament. What a hood ornament!
